Embed the Change
Ensuring your change programme is successful and delivers the identified benefits is the most important aspect of the entire programme. This requires post-implementation resource to follow through on all the identified impacts and plans.
Many organisations move resource completely off the change programme once the ‘implementation date’ is achieved and onto the next programme, missing the opportunity to embed the change in the organisation and not realising the full benefits.
A formal post-change review to identify learning also needs to be completed and this learning must be fed back into the organisation to help ensure positive aspects are repeated and mistakes are not. This sounds simple, and practically it is, but very often is not undertaken – invest time to save time.
